There are many reasons why our volunteers sign up with us. Some mentioned that they were looking for a meaningful purpose in their lives after retirement, once they become less busy. Others said they wanted to pursue a social cause that mattered to them, something they were not able to do when they were working. Some mentioned they want to experience the joys of becoming a “giver”, as giving back to society was very important to them. And some were  very passionate about wanting to make the world a better place. They looked at themselves as “crusaders”.
