National Association of Farmer Producer Organisations (NAFPO) supports the institutional development and business stabilisation of Farmer Producer Organisations (FPOs), with a special focus on women run FPO’s. Our Seniors are inducted as Independent Directors (IDs) or Advisors to FPO’s, to strengthen their financial and legal compliances and general governance. They guide FPO CEOs and Board members through regular interactions and participating in Board meetings. Coverage includes Assam, Chhattisgarh, Jharkhand, Madhya Pradesh and Uttar Pradesh. Starting with onboarding 33 volunteers as IDs, we are now expanding coverage to 60 FPO’s.
Kranti fights for the upliftment of marginalised tribal communities in Pune district. With an expanding project scope and growing teams, our expert volunteer developed a comprehensive and actionable HR Handbook for the organisation. This was to empower their shift to a structured and professional approach to team management and covered HR policies around team hiring, talent management and talent retention. This handbook was been very well received by Kranti.
Seva Mandir works with more than 500,000 people in 1500 rural village of Southern Rajasthan. 84% of the population are subsistence farmers who struggle to make a living from their small landholdings. Seva Mandir’s interventions in these communities span different areas from education, health to natural resource management. Seniors in Seva helped Seva Mandir review its current documentation procedures across departments, and identify opportunities for improving efficiency through digitisation and/or better SOPs.
Transformation of Rural India (TRI) envisions rural revival by transforming opportunities for localities and communities at a systemic level. TRI galvanises collaboration among communities, civil society, government, market players and donors to transform villages into clusters of vibrant opportunities. TRI has partnered with Seniors in Seva to induct volunteers as Independent Directors to the Boards of 10 Lighthouse FPOs in Uttar Pradesh to support and guide them in governance, financial compliances and business development and support the farmer collectives become viable business enterprises.
Bridge4Change is a non-profit established in 2021 aimed at professionally contributing towards a just society by using Mindful Consumption as a tool. Their strategy includes associating with academic institutions engaging students primarily at the undergraduate level- to bring behaviour shifts in their lifestyle. Seniors in Seva‘s expert volunteer helped Bridge4Chang explore positioning and communication idea that would get a stronger buy in from decision makers of institutions to invest in their concept and offerings
ShelterSquare Foundation’s (SSF) mission is to promote equitable and dignified housing for migrant workers in the unorganized and informal sectors. Our expert volunteer supported the SSF team in making its first workers’ hostel in Surat a viable enterprise- so that the same became a template for other such interventions. This included work on marketing strategies as well as improving operational efficiencies.
Shamayita Math is a non-profit in West Bengal, started by a group of women committed to empowering vulnerable communities in the area, with a focus on women. More than 200000 households have been positively impacted in the areas of livelihood creation, skill building, healthcare, education and sport. Our expert volunteer helped them redesign their accounting systems to better reflect project wise accounting, as requested by their donors, in addition to overall organisation accounts. Follow up support was also offered to help them transition to the new system.
Prabhat Education Foundation serves children and adults with special needs, helping them to achieve their full potential in and around Ahmedabad, India. We are trying to help their fund raising team build its skills in communication and long-term relationship building with current and potential sponsors interested in their inspiring mission
GSS (Gramin Swavlamban Samiti) was founded in 2002 and works to support migrant workers, bonded laborers, women and children from marginalised communities. With operations across 3 districts in Bundelkhand, MP and 2 districts in UP, plans are underway to expand footprint to 14 districts in Bundelkhand. After reviewing their annual reports and vision documents, Seniors in Seva’s expert volunteer identified seven potential areas of intervention and guided them on the creation of high impact Annual Reports for funders and other stakeholders
CRY is committed to uplifting underprivileged children using multiple strategies. Seniors in Seva’s volunteer with experience in child education conducted workshops for CRY’s own volunteers, who take classroom sessions with children from low income homes covering a variety of subjects. The workshops focussed on how to conduct class based teaching sessions that keeps children engaged and eager to learn. The workshops were found very useful and teaching materials shared by our volunteer are still in use by CRY for their ongoing work with school children.
Astytva was set up with the vision of unlocking the potential of every child to lead a life of dignity. It does so through creating safe spaces where children are allowed to fail and nurtured to succeed! Working with children of migrant families employed in the ancillary auto industry of Pune, Astytva has placed them with some of the leading universities in the country. Our volunteer mentored a high school student in the area of finance, and helped her gain admission and a scholarship to an established university.
Forum of Enterprises for Equitable Development (“FEED”) is a non-profit created to help improve marginal farmer incomes in India. FEED has pioneered an annual status report based on primary surveys with marginal farmers. Seniors in Seva’s expert volunteer is helping FEED with their 2024-25 report through advise on field survey design, questionnaire design, survey coverage and final report review.
CRY’s volunteers are often young graduates or first jobbers. In gratitude for their pro-bono work, CRY offers a variety of learning and development training and workshops for their personal growth. Seniors in Seva’s seasoned HR volunteers were invited to conduct one-on-one mentoring sessions with 9 CRY volunteers, covering topics like career networking, career choice, leadership and team effectiveness. The deep engagement was greatly appreciated by CRY and we have received very positive feedback on these sessions.
CRY reached out to Seniors in Seva for help upskill their teams and fund raising tele-callers on effective communication internally and with donors and sponsors. Experts from Seniors in Seva conducted separate sessions for these two cohorts, covering more than 30 participants across North, South East and West Regions. Our volunteers’ have received very positive feedback from CRY for the professional tools, techniques and frameworks offered to CRY’s teams by our volunteers.
